SLA Fishing Derby and Picnic
The fishing derby starts at 10:00am and ends at noon - no fishing license is required as it is Free Fishing Week in Ontario. All ages are welcome to fish but only children 14 and younger are eligible to win prizes. This is a strictly catch and release tournament and tracking of fish caught is on the honour system, as witnessed by an adult. You are required to hand in an entry form at the end of the Derby to be eligible for prizes. Entry forms will be available at Paul and Karin Prendergast’s cottage on the Severn River prior to the start of the Derby or can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
The Picnic starts at 12:00 Noon at the Prendergast Cottage. There is no cost but participants must bring their own food and beverages. There will be a BBQ available for cooking if you need it and Paul may even cook for you if you bring him a beer! There may be activities for the children afterwards. Please RSVP by July 8, 2016. You can RSVP by phone 705-684-9241, 416-520-8062 or by completing the electronic form below. An RSVP is required in order to determine the number of prizes needed. No RSVP may mean no prize.
Please note that the Prendergast cottage is on the “main thoroughfare” of the Trent Severn heading toward Swift Rapids and the boat wakes get pretty big on occasion. Please do not come by a boat that you will be concerned about docking in these conditions. Cottagers on Deep Bay Boulevard or off of the Delta Riverview road system can also come by car to 1612 Penton Parkway.
